East Coast Designer Builders is a Cairns-based building design and construction company creating carefully considered tropical homes, duplexes, multiple dwellings and commercial projects for Far North Queensland.
Led by Steven Drabsch, Builder and Anna Cartaar, Building Designer, we specialise in design solutions that respond to the realities of the tropics — light, shade, ventilation, liveability, outlook and a respectful footprint on the land. From custom homes on challenging or sloping sites to well-planned higher-density and commercial outcomes, our work is grounded in practical construction knowledge and thoughtful design.
We work with private clients, developers, investors, planners, engineers and specialist consultants to deliver projects that are functional, refined and responsive to both site and neighbourhood. Our approach embraces lightweight construction, climate-responsive design and tropical planning principles to create places that feel comfortable, enduring and distinctly North Queensland.
